It is called HER2+, and not so common like other types of cancer known to people.
It is said to be a rare cancer of the breast which like others require surgery to treat completely.
The procedure also comes with heavy financial burden as it requires millions of naira to complete the cycle of treatment.

In her case, Attah Christine Aputu has had to suffer this ailment since 2015, without extensive and adequate treatment due to paucity of funds.

Her late husband was in the Navy and had died in the ill fated Air Force Lockheed C-130H Hercules that crashed at Ejigbo, 3 minutes after take off from Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos on September 26, 1992.

All 159 people on board perished in that crash including 8 foreign nationals
Christine had undergone surgery when she was first diagnosed in 2015, but for lack of funds she was unable to continue the treatment but felt relieved.

However in 2018, the ailment resurfaced and this time more severe.
A second surgery had been carried out on her as well as radiotherapy and she is on Chemotherapy treatment which commenced in November 2018.
For each cycle of treatment she undergoes every three weeks, the cost is put at N418,000.

Mrs. Aputu is to undergo 18 cycles of treatment which will bring the total cost at N7,524, 000.
Her fate is hanging in the balance as it were as she currently is stranded at a private hospital in Abuja since September 2018 where she is supposed to be receiving treatment.

This widow of 27 years has expended everything to see if she can save her life. For her to continue living healthily, Christine needs financial assistance from well spirited individuals and organizations to enable her complete the circle of treatment and be healthy again.
